I was just passing through and found this place. It was close to closing time but they allowed me to sit in until 9:15pm. I ordered the goat curry which comes with rice, aloo paratha, and a mango lassie. The goat curry with bone in was the highlight! Plentiful, tender and flavoursome. I highly recommend this! The medium hot was NZ medium hot, but that was fixed with a free side of green chili sauce (I’ve previously lived in India for 3 years). The aloo paratha was also decent, with the mango lassie average (the standard pulp is always too sweet, as opposed to fresh mango) and came with a touch of cardamom. The young Nepalese man provided top notch banter too. Atmosphere was lacking but then I arrived late and the place was empty. I felt the $38 was well spent. Thank you Whitby Taj

I visited the Whiby Taj for the first time and found everything so amazing here . I booked a party dinner for 12 people at Whitby Taj . As I went inside first I noticed the cleanliness because it is very important that the place where you are eating should be hygienic .But Im so impressed with atmosphere of whitby Taj restaurant (aroma fragrance and music ) refreshed my mood . Their Staff welcomed us so nicely, first served water and sent the menu along with it. Miss Gurpreet took everyone's order with a lot of patience and kindness as she looked very experienced and professional. They started by serving drinks . Later on Mr Tanveer started serving food in a very Professional manner ( curry’s , Naan Breads platters ) , No doubt guys, the food was as delicious to eat , as it looked Dinning at Whitby Taj was a delightful experience from start to finish . we enjoyed everything about our visit to this restaurant . ,Customer service of Whitby Taj Staff exceeded all expectations. Excellent food, good staff, little bit cramped, but otherwise I highly recommend
Got take aways. The portions are two smalls portions of spice traders. Flavor is next level. We had the lamb vindaloo (kiwi hot) that’s a good heat level. Might be too spicy for some but we loved it. And had the chicken saagwala (Indian hot) would have thought that it would be spicier than the kiwi hot. But still a good meal. Overall vindaloo topped it with the coconut rice. We will be ordering next week again. 5 starts. Photo is of half the port that was supplied after placing in different containers for lunch.
Best food i have ever had , specially malai kofta is yum. Can’t wait to have that again.
